{"id":884,"date":"2021-10-12T15:04:32","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T11:04:32","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"Chef-Johns-Buttermilk-Biscuits","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/331333.xyz\/index.php\/2021\/10\/12\/Chef-Johns-Buttermilk-Biscuits\/","title":{"rendered":"Chef John&#8217;s Buttermilk Biscuits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n2 cups all-purpose flour<br \/>\n2 teaspoons baking powder<br \/>\n1 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n\u00bc teaspoon baking soda<br \/>\n7 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled in freezer and cut into thin slices<br \/>\n\u00be cup cold buttermilk<br \/>\n2 tablespoons buttermilk for brushing<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<br \/>\nPreheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).<\/p>\n<p>Line a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda together in a large bowl.<\/p>\n<p>Cut butter into flour mixture with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, about 5 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Make a well in the center of butter and flour mixture. Pour in 3\/4 cup buttermilk; stir until just combined.<\/p>\n<p>Turn dough onto a floured work surface, pat together into a rectangle.<\/p>\n<p>Fold the rectangle in thirds. Turn dough a half turn, gather any crumbs, and flatten back into a rectangle. Repeat twice more, folding and pressing dough a total of three times.<\/p>\n<p>Roll dough on a floured surface to about 1\/2 inch thick.<\/p>\n<p>Cut out 12 biscuits using a 2 1\/2-inch round biscuit cutter.<\/p>\n<p>Transfer biscuits to the prepared baking sheet.
