{"id":775,"date":"2021-10-07T06:10:17","date_gmt":"2021-10-07T02:10:17","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"Jazzy-New-Orleans-Chicken","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/331333.xyz\/index.php\/2021\/10\/07\/Jazzy-New-Orleans-Chicken\/","title":{"rendered":"Jazzy New Orleans Chicken"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n1 (3 pound) whole chicken, skin removed and cut into pieces<br \/>\n\u2153 cup all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1 tablespoon vegetable oil<br \/>\n\u00bd pound smoked sausage<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic, minced<br \/>\n1 onion, chopped<br \/>\n2 red bell peppers, chopped<br \/>\n3 roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped<br \/>\n1 teaspoon brown sugar<br \/>\n\u00be teaspoon dried thyme<br \/>\n\u00be teaspoon dried oregano<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon salt<br \/>\n\u00bc teaspoon ground allspice<br \/>\n1\u2009\u00bd cups long-grain white rice<br \/>\n2\u2009\u00bc cups chicken stock<br \/>\n1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, for garnish<br \/>\n1 lemon &#8211; sliced, for garnish<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<br \/>\nDredge chicken in flour, turning to coat all over.<\/p>\n<p>In large saucepan or Dutch oven, heat oil over medium heat.  Brown chicken pieces about 8 minutes per side.  Transfer to plate.<\/p>\n<p>Combine sausage, garlic, onion, peppers, tomatoes, sugar, thyme, oregano, salt, and allspice in the pan.  Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until peppers are softened.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in rice, and add stock.  Nestle chicken into rice.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat, and cover.  Cook for 20 to 25 minutes, or until liquid is absorbed and juices run clear when chicken is pierced. Serve sprinkled with parsley.
