{"id":562,"date":"2021-10-05T20:36:38","date_gmt":"2021-10-05T16:36:38","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"Sweet-Onion-Pie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/331333.xyz\/index.php\/2021\/10\/05\/Sweet-Onion-Pie\/","title":{"rendered":"Sweet Onion Pie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n1\u2009\u00bd cups buttery round crackers, crumbled<br \/>\n6 tablespoons butter, softened<br \/>\n2 cups thinly sliced sweet onions<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic, minced<br \/>\n1 tablespoon minced fresh chives<br \/>\n\u00be cup whole milk<br \/>\n2 eggs<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon salt<br \/>\n\u00be cup shredded Cheddar cheese<br \/>\n1 pinch paprika<br \/>\n1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<br \/>\nPreheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).<\/p>\n<p>In a mixing bowl, combine crackers and 4 tablespoons of butter in a bowl until well blended. Press into the bottom and 1 inch up the sides of 8 inch pie plate to form a shell.  Refrigerate until needed.<\/p>\n<p>Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter in heavy skillet over medium heat.  Saute onions and garlic slowly until tender, about 12 minutes.  Arrange onions in the cracker crust.<\/p>\n<p>Beat eggs, whole milk, chives, and salt in a bowl until blended.  Pour the mixture over the onions. Sprinkle with cheese and paprika.<\/p>\n<p>Bake in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven for 35 minutes, or until a knife comes out clean.  Garnish with the parsley.
