{"id":560,"date":"2021-10-05T20:12:56","date_gmt":"2021-10-05T16:12:56","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","slug":"Cornish-Finnish-Michigan-Pasties","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/331333.xyz\/index.php\/2021\/10\/05\/Cornish-Finnish-Michigan-Pasties\/","title":{"rendered":"Cornish Finnish Michigan Pasties"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients:<br \/>\n4\u2009\u00bd cups all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1 cup shortening<br \/>\n1\u2009\u00bc cups ice water<br \/>\n1 teaspoon salt<br \/>\n5\u2009\u00bd cups thinly sliced potatoes<br \/>\n2 carrots, shredded<br \/>\n1 onions<br \/>\n\u00bd cup diced rutabaga<br \/>\n1\u2009\u00bd pounds lean ground beef<br \/>\n\u00bd pound lean ground pork<br \/>\n1 tablespoon salt<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ground black pepper<br \/>\n1\u2009\u00bd teaspoons monosodium glutamate (MSG)<br \/>\n1 cube beef bouillon<br \/>\n\u00bd cup hot water<\/p>\n<p>Directions:<br \/>\nWhisk together flour and salt in a large bowl. Cut shortening.  Make a well in the center of the mixture, and quickly stir in ice cold water.  Form dough into a ball.  Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>Dissolve the bouillon cube in the hot water.  Combine uncooked vegetables, uncooked meats, salt, pepper, monosodium glutamate, and bouillon.<\/p>\n<p>Roll out pastry dough into 6 x 8 inch rectangles.  Place about 1 1\/2 cups of filling in the center of each rectangle.  Bring 6 inch sides together, and seal.  Cut a slit in the top of each pasty.
